Spooky World is a Halloween Theme Park in Foxboro, Massachusetts open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October. It features different celebrity guests each weekend who meet with fans and sign autographs. The weekend of October 24-26, 2003 the guests included William Christopher, Gary Burghoff, and Jamie Farr. Loretta Swit was scheduled to appear but had to cancel due to her production of Mame opening that weekend in North Carolina. I was fortunate enough to make it there on Saturday night (3.5 hour drive, not too bad). The line started slowly at 6pm but had grown substantially by 7pm when they were scheduled to arrive. While waiting, we found out what the autograph/photograph pricing was (unfortunately, this information was not available through Spooky World's web site or hotline and there were no ATMs on site... something to keep in mind for these sorts of conventions). I had a wonderful time speaking with each of them for a few moments. You often hear of some how some celebrities are very stand-offish; happily, Gary Burghoff, William Christopher, and Jamie Farr are each very friendly. They were kind enough to pose for a group shot (see below). I also snapped several photos during the autograph session; the best two are included below.
