My sister and I have seen the play a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it each time. A lot more than just "nice", we both thought the play was fantastic. It was hilarious throughout, with moments which were also very touching. I laughed so hard at times (especially during the 2nd act) that I was crying. Each of the actresses and Gary were great; their timing was impeccable and they put a lot of emotion into their characters. They brought the characters to life. I doubt I would now be able to read the play or see it anywhere without imagining this cast in the parts.
Sherri Lubov-Ripps was great as Elaine, the woman Barney picked up at his restaurant only to find that she was a lot more prepared for an afternoon of extra-marital sex than he was. Beautiful Gena Gale Burghoff was extremely funny and energetic as Bobbi, the struggling actress who has had a number of bizarre relationships and experiences in the past and works on getting Barney to try marijuana. Nancy Marvy was wonderful as Jeanette, the mutual friend of Barney and his wife Thelma who has been almost hopelessly depressed since finding out her husband is cheating on her. Last but certainly not least, Gary was fantastic as Barney, the faithful husband and restaurant owner who tries to have one affair to remember forever.
We were fortunate enough to speak with the cast and snap some pictures. They were each very nice and it was great getting a chance to talk with them. Because of the tight tour schedule and traveling, it was something they don't always get a chance to do.
