BJ opening theme season 7 on...

Right before they show Loretta Swit's name, they show the close up of Hawkeye's face (same one was used throughout all 11 seasons), but starting with season 7, we get a similar close up of B.J. (now donning the mustache) and B.J. gives a quick nod of his head. What was that about? Was that a message to say "Take this guy first?" Was it to say "He'll be alright?" Always wondered about this, and wondered if anyone here on the boards had any insights into this.

I've always been a little confused about that as well, but that little detail aside, B.J.'s inclusion in the main titles have been really weird.

His original shot showing him running up to the chopper from a distance (which greatly obscures him) is used for all of Season 4 in syndication, but only the first two or three episodes on DVD, while the rest of the season (as well as 5 and 6) uses that tighter shot that shows him to be looking over the patient in the chopper's rumble seat before looking up and speaking to somebody off camera. Also, syndication uses that same shot for the opening of "Commander Pierce" and "Peace on Us" instead of the nodding mustachiod B.J. - maybe to build up to the surprise of Beej growing the mustache.

Another strange thing is that in syndication, the opening credits for Season 5 used the chopper footage from Seasons 6-11 instead of the footage that was previously used during Seasons 1-4.

For some strange reason, both parts of "Fade Out, Fade In" use the chopper footage from Seasons 1-4 (and 5 in syndication) in the opening titles on Hulu.

And for some stranger reason, the entire episode of "Fade Out, Fade In, Part 1" on Hulu is slowed down.

I meant to say Season 5 on DVD, not syndication; Season 5 in syndication used the chopper footage otherwise featured in the opening titles for Seasoms 6-11.

Seems somehow appropriate that "Fade Out Fade In" should be in slow motion, given how Hawkeye, BJ and Potter all complained about how slow Winchester operated!
