None Like It Hot

Klinger came so very close to getting that Section 8 in this episode. Are they any other episodes you can recall where he came that close?

Toledo

He thought he was in Toledo. Potter asked him a bunch of personal info to fill out the section 8 paperwork and caught when Klinger answered, "Corporal" to Potter's "Rank." Potter tears up the form right there.

doubt it...

I highly doubt that Potter actually meant it. I think he was half kidding in None Like it Hot. If Potter had tried to give Klinger his Section 8, the Army would've labeled Klinger, making it hard, if not impossible for him to get a job after the war, if the Army even approved it.

In "The Colonel's Horse," Klinger feigned having severe depression before Potter left to join Mildred for R&R; when Potter returned, Klinger was curled up on his desk in the fetal position, non-functioning. Potter said he'd fill out Klinger's discharge, because severe depression was grounds for discharge . . . which suddenly feels Klinger with glee has he hops off Potter's desk and begins a happy dance . . . to which Potter rips up his discharge papers.
