I just can't watch M*A*S*H on TV anymore: so much cutting and butchering, really disjoints and mangles the show - sometimes entire sequences and scenes will get the ax, which causes major confusion . . . like in "The Ringbanger," why did Henry have paper wrapped around his ear when Hawkeye gets him drunk? Because in a scene that was cut from syndication, Henry was trimming his hair in his tent when Frank barged in and startled him, causing him to slice his ear with the scissors.
I tend toward laziness, even in low-commitment endeavors like TV watching, so I just flip channels instead of getting my DVDs out.
I will be watching a syndicated episode and say to myself, "Hey, they missed something," after one of these edited scenes. I think full episodes are about 24 minutes - You know what a syndicated episode runs?
