There are a bunch of enjoyable parts - Trapper's losing ways in poker, an Eldon Quick appearance (I think he could have been a funny recurring character throughout the series), Henry's crack about paying unemployment insurance in case the war ends and he loses his job, and Hawkeye's interactions with those getting paid. The premise of Hawkeye getting $3,000 from the army, presumably on the same day is absolutely ridiculous. And Trapper winning enough in a few hands of poker to pay off the entire amount seems equally ridiculous. Does the ridiculousness of the story impact your enjoyment of the episode?

Even in a pre-computer age, you think they'd have the brains to figure out something was up along the way.
