Favorite Frankisms O.O

And I mean besides his signature "Oh, nerts (to you)!"

Here's one that I'm SURE was a racy piece of dialogue for the show back in 1972...

"Oh Margaret, you're my snug harbor... I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you to sail into."

WHOA!

I watched that episode last night, and thought the exact same thing! I was wondering though, whether it was actually meant to mean that, or we just took it that way because of our dirty minds ;P

He used this one a few times "Oh you...you...you guys!"

Him referring to the Chinese and North Koreans as 'Yellow Hordes' or 'Godless Hordes' LOL

Let's of course, not forget his use of the term 'goldbricking'

I'm sick of hearing about the wounded. What about all the thousands of wonderful guys who are fighting this war without any of the credit or the glory that always goes to those lucky few who just happen to get shot?

Dictating his last will and testament to Father Mulcahy:

"My car, my house, all the money I buried in my backyard, goes to the only woman who ever really cared, ever really understood: my wife, Louise. She'll have to thaw out the map, it's inside some ground chuck in the basement freezer. My savings account passbook number is in the same bottle as my appendix...For my children, all profits from my prescription kickbacks. These are recorded in my red ledger, not the blue one that I show to the government. And finally, to Major Margaret Houlihan, my friend, my comrade, my little soldier...I leave all my clothes."

I've got a goodie....

(To Igor, complaining about the food not being properly compartmentalized on the tray)

Frank: Apples don't grow on trees you know!!

Another is "Go fry an egg!" There are many more but I want to leave some for the others :D

To Hawkeye and BJ, after Margret shuns him in "Mail Call, Again"

"Ah go practice yer putts"

It's not a quote, but his high pitched giggle always makes me laugh :D

Kind of like when Frank is pretty much right out of it and Hawk and BJ toe tag him in "Der Tag"? LMAO

Ah Frank...you love to hate him....

"Oh! Go jump in the lake!" I have to wonder if my grandmother said that first or Frank...hmmm...alot of terms she used were often used by old ferret face now that I think about it...

I think I remember Frank referring to the Communists as the "pink stain" a couple of times.

There were a few times when Frank Burns made different comments to Hawkeye and others who he thought didn't shave good enough with lines like

"this time try it with a blade in the razor." or "this time take one step closer to the razor."

I always laugh at his HMPH before Hawkeye delivers his famous "Carry a Gun" speech. :)

I love Frank's "I don't chew my cabbage twice", although I'm not quite sure of what it means. I also always find Frank's line to Margaret "Never have so many suffered so much so that so few could be so happy" (paraphrasing from memory) and Margaret's response "Oh Frank, we're so lucky to be the few and not the many" again paraphrased) to be a classic exchange, epitomizing their relationship in the early seasons.

"I don't chew my cabbage twice" is a rather common saying, it basically means "I'm not repeating myself."

In "Iron Guts Kelly" when Margret, Trap and Hakweye are "not sleeping together" after General Kelly expires in Margret's tent and Frank all of a sudden shows up...
Trap - Come again, Frank.
Hawk - Good night, Frank.
Frank - Don't you wish!

Seeing the Quote of the Day "I called it 'Burns' Blight', catchiest name since diarrhea" made me laugh. I don't actually remember that line but I can just imagine him saying it :D

"Burns' Blight" may sound catchier, but it isn't even half the fun. :P

My dear boy, I've just said that, lol.

Okay, here's one...

B.J.: Frank, this is Private Cornhouse, he slipped and cracked his head open on some Jell-O.
FRANK: Jell-O?! *To Cornhouse* The next time you get near Jell-O, wear your helmet!
