Maximom Will Be Happy

Because I know she's been wanting me to write a M*A*S*H fanfic for a while now, and I believe I've been struck by an amusing little plot based on one of my favorite running gags on the show...

I'll keep everyone posted...

:) I am happy lol. You are so knowledgable about MASH so I can't wait to see what comes of your idea. There..now write darn it! lol

Will you try to go back to fanfic.net?

Nope. Ban me once, shame on me, ban me twice... I don't want to have to adjust/change my style just because they refuse to accept it, I'll probably upload it to my Webs account with my AATC fanfics, but just keep it separate from that specific site.

I will say this though - the fic takes place during early Season Six, as Charles is still relatively new to the staff, and having a hard time moving at the quick pace that everyone else has become accustomed to.

Any other hints to the plot? :)

It focuses mainly on Radar.

Aww that sucks...I was interested before you mentioned Radar. Damn.

Just kidding, I'm sure it will be great! :P Why did you get banned twice from fanfic?

I didn't, I was rephrasing that old quote "Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you, fool me three times..." etc.

The reason I was banned in the first place, again, nobody told me that script format was the same as "chat format", which they don't allow, hence, all my stories were deleted, and I was banned from my account (that, and they said I was giving other fanfics the "Mystery Science Theater" treatment, which I didn't).

Just a quick note for everyone - I AM still working on this story, bear it mind it might be a while, as work is piling up on me and I'm swamped with puppets to build, lol.

Wow, I can't believe it's been an entire month since I first started this thing, lol. But then again, that's nothing compared to the work I did on my AATC "Australian Connection" trilogy for five or six months, lol.

Just letting everyone know I haven't forgotten about the fic, but I have hit a bit of a writer's block, but I'ma try to have the story completed and published by Christmas, 'kay?

No problem, Looking forward to reading it. Will it be a one shot or a continuing story? I had a bit of writers block myself for my MASH stories. I was getting them out there quite a bit but lately it took me almost two months to put one out there. It seems like my focus has been elsewhere. It doesn't help that Mash hasn't been on since before Thanksgiving.

Oh well no pressure here. :)

Lack of internet for the past couple of days, and fighting a virus at the same time, the story is finally finished!

To answer your question Maximom, it is a one-shot, I usually tend to stick to those, though sometimes if I write more than one fanfic for a show, I kind of write them as if they're a series of episodes, to maintain a bit of continuity.

Now, as I've mentioned, this story takes place in very early Season Six... just before "Last Laugh" (6x04) actually, as Charles is still relatively new to the staff, and Margaret mentions how she's wanting to talk to Potter about letting her visit Donald (and Hawkeye mentions Klinger sent home for a "camel").

So, without further ado...

BDO,

I loved it! It was like an episode of the show, complete with authentic dialogue. Poor Radar couldn't catch a break. I always felt bad for him in the show, especially the way Margaret and Charles treated him. The dog and the teddy bear was a nice touch. All in all this was a nice read.

Thanks Maximom, glad you liked it!

I found that Hawkeye was so easy to write... every scene with him, all I had to do was to think of what kind of joke he would crack about the current discussion, and it seemed to work out, lol.

I wonder though, if I should have had Charles actually consider Hawkeye's tip about moving his stocks to Pioneer Aviation?

Didn't that happen in the show? Or am I mixing up my shows lol. I might be confused or was it Frank who got a "hot tip" about a stock? I doubt Charles would have listened to Hawkeye about something as important as his money so I think it worked well the way it was.

In an early episode, yeah, Hawkeye made up the thing about Pioneer Aviation to get Frank to move all his stocks, and then in the end, he told him there is no Pioneer Aviation.

In my story, Hawkeye suggested Charles do the same, as a casual joke, but luckily, Charles chose to go with his father's wisdom.

Good thinking.
Besides, CHARLES strikes me as more the type to invest in CONSOLIDATED LINT, NATIONAL DUST, and the kinds of companies that normally have GOMEZ ADDAMS for an investor and/or stockholder. Besides, let FRANK stick to ATandT.
