Some thoughts on FF.Net

I know that probably most of you have gone to ff.net once in a while, what do you think is the worst written (in general) category? MASH has lots of great stries, Star Trek is mostly good but too much dumb parody and Kirk/Spock(eewwww!) for my taste. Harry Potter...well, you cannot find ANYTHING worth reading within a list of 10,000+ stories, so I simply avoid it.

Well, anyway, what do you think is the worst ever ff.net category?

There aren't any good Wonder Years stories on there.

Ethier something like Harry Potter, Doctor Who, most anime shows, or anything else which has a massive fan base and a cute main actor.

I was just combing through ff.net, trying to answer my own question. Although Harry Potter wil always be the most horrible category, the South Park category is pure shit (scuse me). Don't even look at it, I mean it.

Hey, no more censoring (so I've noticed). Hm.

Anyway, don't ask me why I was in the Three's Company category, but I'm not going back any time soon.

Errr...Sorry about the language. Anyway, another horrible category is Seinfeld *shudder* all parody and random poor attempts at writing. And yes, I've seen the Threes Company section (I can't figure out why I went there either) it was just...euuwgh. However, the South Park section is still the second worst. It is nothing but a gigantic OOC slashfest. Seriously. About 29 out of 30 stories there are slash. And about 49 out of fifty of the stories are when the characters are grown up, which is a hundred times worse than slash. I have seen a grand total of about 6 good stories in that section. Oh yeah, the Simpsons section is really bad too, every single story is stupid, plotless, poorly written, shallow, random, teenage girl-ish, and retarded. It's really pathetic.

It's usually stuff like Homer dies and Marge has Bart casterated or something like that!

I've read part of one where Skinner dismembers Bart because Bart was going to kill him by putting anthrax in the ductwork....I was so sickened I didn't even finish.

Don't count on SEINFELD coming to GRAND RAPIDS, unless RADAR locks him and KRAMER in jail overnight for drunk driving.

So just remember that I decided for KEVIN ARNOLD to become a deputy for RADAR.

Why don't you go to ff.net and write a WY story, that's what he was talking about and we already KNOW he is a deputy!

FF.net can be hit or miss in many of the categories. I've been writing there for a few years and come across so much badfic! Thankfully, I have also come across enough very well written stories that make the site worthwhile. The M*A*S*H section thankfully has some great stories, along with the Stargate: Atlantis section. I am a huge Quantum Leap fan and while the category doesn't have enough fics, thankfully many of them are well-written.

Avoid most of the cartoon sections like the plague, due to horrible fic inside them. Sometimes I can be a grammar nazi and stories that do not know how to spell or use a period are turn-offs. There is also some badfic inside the Scrubs section as well.

I agree about the scrubs fanfic! I am so disappointed with 99% of it. Mash, imo, has the most talented selection of writers. BTW I read the story you just posted and I really enjoyed it.:)

The Metalocalpyse section is okay, because very few people watch that show who are passionate about it. More than half of the main characters talk funny so it's hard to write about them or figure out what going on!

SCRUBS is pitiful. Besides, a sailor on leave turning up dead in GRAND RAPIDS, well, I'M sure that RADAR would welcome help from LeROY JETHRO GIBBS & his N.C.I.S. team?
