Frank

We all know Frank was not a very good surgeon. He could only handle the simple operations. I wonder why did Henry or Potter not have Frank transferred stateside to a medical administrative job with the army?

It was mentioned all throughout the series that they were always short-handed at the 4077th, especially during heavy deluges, and as Potter once said, "We could use every inept surgeon we can get."

True! I had forgotten that Potter said that. Frank was better than not having enough help.

it's just a shame they wouldn't keep Spearchucker around. Dang complainers. At least he could have had a full season of helping in the OR.

How do you think Frank did after his promotion to Lt. Col and reassignment to a VA Hospital in Indiana?

I often wondered what happened to Frank, and to the others after the characters left Korea. We only know about Potter, Klinger, Mulcahy and for an episode or two, Radar thanks to AFTERMASH.

I would speculate that Frank was just as incompetent and insufferable as a Lt. Col. as he was as a Major.
