So many destinations on that sign post, but why was Seoul on it twice?

From what I read years ago (from set designer Bert Allen), some of the signs appeared twice so that at different angles, you could see the same city. In the first season of M*A*S*H, they actually had most of the signs doubled (two San Franciscos, Tokyos, Seouls ect.)! At one point, the signpost actually had 3 different Seoul signs (one after Boston, one on the opposite side of Toledo, and one at the bottom after Decatur). In the fnal episode when some of the 4077th staff run up to the signpost and pull off their hometown signs, You can see there are no duplicates! My favorite configuration is that final season with Boston, Seoul, Coney Island, San Francisco, Tokyo, Burbank, Death Valley, Indinanapolis, Decatur and Honolulu.
I hope this helps!!

Sidebar: years ago I was in the USMC out at 29 Palms, CA. Our unit worked out in the middle of the desert at a runway. So we kind of had our own work area. I helped my boss build a sign post similar to the MASH sign post. I don't remember what cities we used but one...my boss put Disneyland North on one of the signs...signifying Sacramento. He thought that was funny...I though it was lame.
