RIP Richard Lee Sung

Richard Lee Sung has sadly passed away at the age of 91. Of the several recurring actors playing different Korean natives throughout the series, he was probably the most familiar one, with his large mustache, his jolly personality, and distinctive manner of speaking, appearing in "Officer of the Day", "Change Day", "The Smell of Music", and "A Night at Rosie's", among other episodes. May he rest in peace.

Loved him on MASH

I don't recall seeing him on other shows, but he was a hoot when he showed up on MASH.

Jeff Maxwell had a lot of nice things to say about Richard on his most recent podcast. Jeff and his host also passed along more about his life and filmography or TV-ography. He sounded like a tremendous person off-camera as well and it sounds like he was much more active in TV than I realized.

Best line in the series!! Sometimes when I'm asked to ID myself: "This is ME!" ;-)

Also when Frank is trying to auction off the camp's trash I think? He tries to say a greeting in Korean: Lee-Sung's character responds: "You wish us all a prostitute?" Frank then says something like "I meant to say I wish everyone prosperity" To which, Lee-Sung replies, "Doesn't Matter, Same Difference!" LOL ;-)

Also when he's a Korean peddler, trying to sell his ware's "Hilter's Pencil Box".

I suspect an episode with a bunch of Arabic narration would not have been a hit.

Damn. Haven't made that mistake in a while. Disregard.
