Attendees of The Party

Last episode of season 7 where BJ arranged for all of their relatives to get together in New York, had the following attendees: Dr. Daniel Pierce, Peg Hunnicutt, Mildred Potter, Howitzer Al Houlihan & his estranged wife, Charles' mother and father, Radar's mom & Uncle Ed, Klinger's parents and his Uncle Abdul and Mulcahy's sister the Sister. I often wondered why Charles' sister Honoria did not attend. I was under the impression she still lived at home with Charles' parents.

Bumping this to see if there's any interest in my original inquiry :D

Did Charles ask her to go???

I didn't even think about this till you brought it up. I've not watched the episode in the last couple months and am not just to answer this question.

I don't recall BJ asking about inviting his sister nor Charles adding it in his invite letter. Charles seemed to do the absolute bare minimum just to keep BJ off his back so I wouldn't imagine he'd volunteer to invite Honoria.

Charles didn't want everyone to know that Honoria stuttered as revealed in a later episode. He was being a kind and protective brother in his mind.

There were so many inconsistencies with Honoria, but in "Major Topper," Charles explained that she was ostracized by the family because she ran away from home at a young age to marry a farmer, who she eventually left and ran off again to live with (not marry) a shoe salesman.

Then again, Flagg was apparently able to dig up enough dirt on the Winchesters in "Rally Round the Flagg, Boys" to know that Honoria still lived at home (as did Charles himself).

Again, it's inconsistencies with the writing.

I wonder if Frank had still been at the 4077th if any of his family would have attended the party?

Frank's wife eating with Margaret's parents...awkward!

Frank probably would not have even told his family about the reunion for fear of his affair with Margaret being revealed.

Any thoughts about Henry's family or Trapper and his family attending?

I think Henry's family would have put a sad tone on the party, so probably not a good idea.

If I was BJ (and maybe Hawkeye), I wouldn't want Trapper going. And if you include stories about drinking or poker or coming under fire, you could include the rest. Direct testimony of what stuff goes on probably wouldn't be good for anyone. Not sure that Trapper would've purposely talked, but might disclose some stories accidentally (especially after a few drinks).
